
The exciter is still a hard chip swap upgrade, but programed EPROM's are $20 shipped on eBay. At that point you'll have to swap the chips. The Wireline typically will upgrade during this too, unless it has the older EPROM memory. The newer SCM modules can be upgraded via SLIP connection over the tty port, or via IP over the 10Base2 connector (anyone have a hub?).
